Senior Training Technician DHSES

o Support the implementation of New York State's Intelligence Liaison Officer (ILO) program for non-law enforcement first responders, to include working with ILO program managers to strengthen the program and serving as a resource to over 100 emergency services ILOs across the state. o Conduct counter terrorism outreach, education, and intelligence and information-sharing amongst the public safety disciplines (to include fire, emergency medical services, emergency management, hazardous materials, public safety answering points, etc.) to raise awareness regarding current terrorism trends, tactics, and procedures, and responder safety issues. o Collaborate with the New York State Intelligence Center (NYSIC) to identify intelligence and information needs of the non-law enforcement first responder community. Partner with law enforcement, including the Field Intelligence Officer (FIO) program, to identify areas of mutual concern, foster relationships, and bridge gaps to enhance cross-discipline information and intelligence sharing. o Serve as a liaison to the New York State Intelligence Center (NYSIC) to provide emergency services sector information and insight to develop threat assessments, situational awareness bulletins, briefings regarding current events, and other products appropriate for the public safety community. o Represent the agency at conferences, meetings, etc. as appropriate. o Travel will be required. o Other duties as assigned. Operational Needs:
o Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver's License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required. This position requires a national level security clearance, minimum first responder experience, and experience, and will require on-the-job training and the development of historical knowledge to implement future program activities. The individual assigned to this position will also be working with confidential and sensitive information and be required to establish working relationships with law enforcement and public safety personnel across the state to openly share information and intelligence. Hiring contracted personnel to conduct the responsibilities of the position would create confidentiality concerns and hinder the ability to develop in-house expertise and program continuity. NOTE:
Support of operations during times of emergency and disaster from State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), state field offices and/or local deployments may be required, which would result in a change and/or increase in working hours, locations and/or duties.

Salary Range:
From $27.78 to $27.78 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
Five years of experience in an appropriate discipline or subject matter. Instructors must also meet the qualifications set by the New York State Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Services (DHSES) and comply with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Office of Domestic Preparedness, Office of State & Local Government Coordination and preparedness (SLGCP) Instructor Certification program, or one of the following equivalent processes:
o Instructional development course(s) approved by the National Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) or approved equivalent. o Programs meeting the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1041:
Standards for Fire Service Instruction Professional Qualifications, Fire Instructor Level 1 or 2, including those accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (NBFSPQ). o Specialized Training Certification Program or Academy Instructor Certification Program offered by the State's Commission on Peace or Police Officer Standards & Training through the Division of Criminal Justice Services. o Requirements for faculty as stated in Standards and Guidelines for Accreditation of Educational Programs in the Emergency Medical Services Professions and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP). o Programs meeting ANSI/ASSE Z490.1:
Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health and Environmental Training. o Equivalent instructor development programs or courses on instruction acceptable to DHSES. The preferred skills and abilities of this position are as follows:
Ability to research, evaluate and analyze complex data including emerging trends, threats and technologies; Prepare comprehensive reports & presentations; Present material in a public forum; Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; Establish effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders; Handle classified, confidential and/or sensitive information.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
